The bar chart depicts the average yearly income distribution between the urban and regional areas of Australia. The average yearly income is divided into 4 categories namely: low, lower middle, middle and high. The unit is measured in percentage and the income is measured in dollars. Overall it is evident that in cities middle income group represent the majority of the population whereas, in regional centres lower middle income group are the majority.

The trend presented in the graph outlines that the portion of the population falling under Lower income group in cities are less compared to the percentage of people falling under the same category in regional centres. However, the percentage of people under High yearly income is lower in urban areas than in regional centres.

On the other hand, the lower middle and middle income people represent more than half of the population in both cities and regional centres. However, in cities the percent of population represented by the middle income group are the highest and lower middle income group is second highest whereas, in regional it is the exact opposite.
