The column chart illustrates the changes and differences in the proportions of the expenditure of citizens in the UK provided by five age groups in three elements in 2004. Overall, what stands out from the graph is that the percentage of Food and Drink is directly proportional to the age.
In particular, when it comes to Food & Drink, the percentage of expenditure gradually increased from the lowest number at 6% to the highest percentage at 23% in the under 30- over 75 year-old group.
In terms of Restaurant, the percentage of under 30 years old was at 14%, which was the highest score, followed by the stability of 12% in 30-75 years old. It was accompanied by over 75 years old at 7%, which was just half in comparison with the highest percentage.
Meanwhile, concerning Entertainment, the top position was at 23% in 60-75 year-old group. The second and third largest proportion were 14%, 13%, which was represented by 45-60 and over 75 year-old group respectively. Besides, under 30-45 years old accounted for the smallest percentages at approximately 7%.
