The chart below shows the percentage of people of different age groups who went to the cinema once a month or more in the UK from 1984 to 2003.

The line graph illustrates the proportion of moviegoers once or more times a month divided into four separate age groups in the UK from 1984 to 2003. Overall, The number of cinema-goers increased steadily in four groups during the given period, while the highest percentage of those who attended the cinema was among the group 15-24.

The age group of 15-24 always had the largest proportion of moviegoers compared to other groups, during the period from 1984 to 2003, this number rose from roughly 15% to more than half. Another age group also witnessed a threefold increase, particularly in the 7-14 age group. However, the number of people who went to cinema of both age groups underwent the decrease after the year 2003.

More people in the two older age groups went to the movies between 1984 and 2003, whereas the 25-35 age group experienced a significant sixfold increase. The group 35 and over had the lowest rate of increase, a modest increase of slightly over 5% over the 19-year period.
