The given line graph depicts the propotion of many sport activities have been participated in by youngsters in the South West of England between 1975 and the present day.

Overall, it is obvious that while swimming has become most popular, the opposite is true for biking/roller skating over the period.

As can be seen from the graph, in the year 1975, the percentage of young people playing ball games was the highest, at more than a third. The figure for biking/roller skating and swimming was lower, at 25% and 15% respectively, and the proportion of young people jogging/running was lowest, at less than 10%. There was a steady rise in the proportion of youngsters swimming from 1980 to 2000, and then it has risen sharply to about 35% in present day. The proportion of running participants fluctuated from 1975 to 2000, and then it has experienced its upward trend until present day, to 15%.

Additionally, the percentage of young people participating in different outdoor activities has witnessed a downward trend for ball games and biking/roller skating over the period. By present day, the figure for balling is higher than that for biking/roller skating, at 20% and 15% respectively.
