The following chart illustrates, in percentages, how much different parts of the world have contributed to the world’s oil production and consumption.

Overall, the most prominent bar on the chart is one showing the Middle East has the most significant share in the world’s total oil resources. However, the highest consumption is made in Asia. Australia and New Zealand have produced the least amount of oil; meanwhile, their utilization is also the lowermost.

Considering the production, 56.25% of the global oil resources are in the Middle East, which is the highest figure on the chart, whereas Australia and New Zealand have only 0.30%. Although Canada is at 2nd in oil possession, its production is only 14.84%, which is far less than the Middle East. Central and South America, Eastern Europe, and other areas of the world holds less than 10% of the total reserves.

Looking at the oil expenditure, Australia and New Zealand have spent 1.31%, which in contrast to others, is the lowest proportion on the chart. However, in Asia, 26.21% of oil utilization is observed. The consumption of 25.48% is also noticed in the United States. Meanwhile, oil expenditure is qualified under 10% in other regions except for Western Europe, which spent 19.24% of the world’s total oil resources.
