The chart below shows the value of one country’s exports in various categories during 2015 and 2016. The table shows the percentage change in each category of exports in 2016 compared with 2015.
Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features and make comparisons where relevant.
The bar chart and data table illustrate the trends in export earnings with respect to different product categories by the percentage proportion and the number of billions between 2015 and 2016.
Looking from the overall perspective, the most dramatical changes occurred in the textiles and engineered goods, making up to 24% in increase. The largest share of export earnings accounted for the export of petroleum products and engineered products, rising slightly from almost 60 to 65 billion USD by the end of surveyed period in both categories.
Turning to the detailed investigation of the graph, the agricultural products and textiles have approximately equal export earning in 2016, hovering around 42 billion dollars. As opposed to the export in 2015, where the textile earnings were quite lower 40 billion, whereas agricultural export income was kept on balance for two years. Gems and jewellery appeared not to follow the similar pattern of other product categories, marginally decreasing the amount of export entry from 52 to 50 billion USD.
Given data of percentage values in export earnings shows us a 5% decline in the gems and jewellery export earnings, what is five times more than the increase in earnings from agriculture. Moving to the petroleum export values, we notice that the earnings in 2016 have surged just in 3% relating to 2015 values.
