The chart graph shows the percentage of tourists to Scotland who visited four different types of attractions from 1980 to 2010

The provided chart graph illustrates the proportion of visitors to four different destinations in Scotland from 1980 to 2010.

Overall, while the percentage of tourists to the zoo and castle experienced an upward tendency, the opposite was true for aquarium and festival. Noticeably, the castle was the most popular attraction in Scotland for most of the period.

In 1980, standing at nearly 25%, the proportion of castle visitors was much higher than that of the zoo, which stood at 10%. Over the next 15 years, that figure of castle rocketed and reached the peak of 45% in 1995. Despite declining in the last 15 years, nonetheless, at 35% in 2010, it still held the first position. On the other hand, the percentage of people visiting zoo registered a mild fluctuation in the first 20 years of the course before increasing to more than 20% in 2010.

Regarding the remaining categories, the festival was the choice of approximately 30% of Scotland visitors in 1980, compared to 20% of aquarium. However, the proportion of visitors to the festival then underwent a steady drop throughout the course, ending at 20% in 2010. Meanwhile, the period from 1980 to 1985 observed a considerable increase from 20% to nearly 35% in the percentage of people visiting aquarium but this figure then decreased and hit the rough of below 10% in the final year.
