The bar chart compares male and female teachers in terms of six levels of educational setting in the UK in 2010, measured by percentage. Overall, females outnumbered males in three first types of education, whereas there were male-dominated figures in college, institute and university levels.
In some sorts of education under college, there were the remarkable gaps between two genders. The percentages were nine times as many females as male teachers in nursery and primary school, around 90% and 10% respectively. However, in secondary school, female teachers only accounted for over 50% while the others made up to 45%, it can be seen that difference was inconsiderable.
By contrast, men and women were more equally represented in the other levels, except for university degree. In college, the data in both genders were exactly the same, 50% for each one. Furthermore, 55% of males taught in private training institute, compared to 45% of females worked at this place. The last one is the university, it illustrated a significant gap, where the figure of men was more than two times higher than that of women, 70% and 30% respectively.
