The charts below give information on the ages of the population of Yemen and Italy in 2000 and projections for 2050.
The data given in the pie charts depict the proportions of three age groups in Yemen and Italy in the year 2000 and predictions for 2050.
As can be seen that the figures for citizens aged from 15 to 59 in Yemen increase slightly, whereas this number in Italy drop dramatically between 2000 and 1950. On the contrary, the percentages of the oldest group go up and the youngest’ ones go down moderately in both countries.
In 2000, the proportion of 0-14 age profile took up just over a half in Yemen, while Italy’s one had only 14.3%. Similarly, the figure for 15-59 year-old in Yemen occupied just over 46% in 2000, and this figure is expected to make up approximately 57% in 2050. By the contrast, it is predicted that the number of people aged 60 or more is likely to grow sharply, from 3.6% to 5.7%.
Besides, there is an expectation that the proportion of the oldest group will experience a significant growth by approximately a half, from 24% in 2000 to 42% in 2050. On the contrary, the youngest range made up 14.3% in 2000 and is estimated to reduce moderately by 2.8% in 2050.
