The charts below show the changes in ownership of electrical appliances and amount of time spent doing housework in households in one country between 1920 and 2019.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

The line graphs indicate the proportion of families owning an electrical appliance, and the relative of time they spent on housework in one nation from 1920 to 2019

Looking for an overall perspective, it can be seen that there was an upward trend in the percentage of home, while the number of hours they did chores declined dramatically over the time surveyed.

Vacuum cleaner and washing machine started with the highest proportion, at about 30% and 40%, respectively. The former saw significant growth to 100% in 2000 and remained flat in the last 19 years. Similarly, a considerable increase to 70% in 1960 was recorded for the latter. However, it went down slightly to just above 60% in 1980, before rising by 10% during 39 years. In contrast, refrigerators accounted for less proportion than the other two, no more than 10% at the beginning of the period but this proportion witnessed the sharpest rise to 100% in 1980 and reached a plateau over 39 years.

Regarding the second graph, in 1920, each family did housework 50 hours per week, but this number gradually fell to 15 hours per week after 60 years and finished at 10 hours in 2019.
