Overall, the percentage of refrigerator witnessed the most significant change in all years while that of washing machine remained stable. The three devices all increased in the number of households with electrical appliances.
In 1920, refrigerator, vacuum cleaner and washing machine began at different numbers, 0, 30 and 40 respectively. Then the refrigerator had shown dramatically and rapidly grew in 1940, the others jumped considerably by 20 percent. Moreover, during the 1960 and 2000, while the refrigerator and vacuum cleaner displayed an upward trend, washing machine decreased slightly then rose up after that. Furthermore, all three devices remained stable from 2000 to 2019 and washing machine hit the highest point at about 70% while those of the others at 100%.
Despite the number of households with the appearance of electrical appliances, number of times spending with the housework had a downward trend from 1920 to 2019. Before this data dropped below 30 hours in 1960, the times of people doing housework was 50 hours. In the last years, this number fell and hit the lowest point at 10 hours in 2019.
