The line graph compares, the surge in the population in few of the world’s biggest cities with the urban and rural areas for a period of three years.
Overall, there is a comparison, between the Tokyo, the New York, the Shanghai, the Bombay and the Jakarta with the population, for a span of three years namely 1970, 1990 and 2010.
In all the countries, even in both the rural and the urban areas, there is a significant growth of the population in the year 2010, with the Tokyo at the top by contributing more than 28%, whereas the Bombay comes below it, with a percent above 26 and below 28. It is interesting to note, that the Bombay has had a drastic growth of its population since 1970, while the New York is the only one country to have a steady growth from 1970.
However, there is a good rise in the rate of the crowd, when compared between 1970 and 1990. In the year 1990, the Tokyo again stands at the peak with above 20%, and it is followed by the Bombay accounting above 10%. All the countries, the urban and the rural areas start of 1970 with a increased population, but the Jakarta starts its rate only between 0-5%, which is the minimum in contrast to the others.
