The bar chart provides information about how many Japanese people travelled to other countries over a period of 10 years. The line graph illustrates the percentage of Japanese tourists who had a trip to Australia in the same period of time.
It can be seen from the chart, generally, there was an upward trend in traveling abroad among the Japanese tourists from 1985 to 1995. Moreover, Australia’s share of Japan’s tourist market showed a gradual increase almost each year during the selected period of time.
In 1985, the number of Japanese travelers was about 5 million and until 1990, it increased significantly to around 6 million. During the rest of the five years of the period, it can still be said that the figure increased gradually from 11 million in 1990 to 15 million in1995.
Turing to the line graph, the Australian tourist sector saw a threefold increase from 1985 to 1995 of Japanese tourists. Especially till 1989, there was a remarkable rise from 2% to around 5%. Although the proportion of Japanese people who travelled to Australia decreased slightly in 1990, after that there was an upward trend which ended in 1996, at 6%.
