The charts below show the percentage of people aged 23-65 in different occupations in one UK town (Ashby) and in the UK as a whole in 2008
The pie charts compare the distribution of UK residents from 23 to 65 years old in different careers in a town in the UK called Ashby and the whole country in 2008
Overall, there were not many significant differences in each category between the two charts. While personal service employed most people aged 23-65 in Ashby, a vast majority of citizens in the UK worked in offices
With regard to office work and personal service, these jobs’ employees accounted for over a third of total people between 23 to 65 in both Ashby and the UK, collectively. However, while the figure for personal service was higher than that of office work 3%, the opposition happened in the figure for the UK. Meanwhile, there was no much difference in those adults working in shops in these two areas
In contrast, the four remaining fields of two areas were witnessed with far more differences. Technical and professional work each made up less than 10% of the whole chart of Ashby, while the figures for the UK were 17% and 14% respectively. On the other hand, the total proportion of unemployed and construction work in the UK ( 20% ) was less than that of Ashby 1.5 times ( 30% )
