The pie charts illustrate the amount of water, as a percentage, used for agriculture, domestic and industrial services in six different continents.
Overall, the majority of continents used highest amount of water on agriculture, whilst water for domestic services was marginally used in all 6 continents. North America and Europe spends much of its water for industrial purposes.
It is noticeable, South America, Africa, Asia and South East Asia use water for agriculture significantly with 71%, 84%, 88%, and 81% respectively. On the other hand, Europe and North America spends large volumes of water for industrial purposes, at 53% and 48% respectively. Water for domestic use was insignificant in all countries.
Similarly, Africa and Central Asia used equal amounts of water for industrial and domestic services, at 7% each. The variance in water used for industrial services is lower in South America, Africa, Central Asia and South East Asia, as it is slightly similar. Likewise, North America and Europe has a small difference in water used for agriculture, at 39% and 32% respectively.
