Less than 10% of the total amount of water is for industrial use in Central Asia and Africa while the figures for South East Asia and South America are slightly higher, at 12 and 10% respectively
In Europe and North America, about half of water consumption is spent on industrial use. These two areas also use up a considerable propotion of water for agriculture, at over 30%. Both Europe and North America spend a similar percentage of water on domestic use, at 13 and 15% in turn.
