The charts below show the proportions of the world's oil resources held in different areas, together with the proportions consumed annually in the same areas.
The charts represent the information about the oil resources and its annual consumption in ten different countries.
Overall, the main oil production is extracted from Middle East while the highest oil usage is recorded of developed countries except for Canada and Australia and New Zealand. It is interesting to note that, Central and South America, Eastern Europe and Africa had the similar in oil production and its consumption.
In terms of oil resources, Middle East is dominant with its production of 56.52% of oil is being held, followed by Canada of 14.82% and Central and South America of 8.12%, while the rest of countries have the minimal oil production of below 8%.
In contrast to oil resources, Asia, United States and Western Europe spent the most of oil despite the lowest production. These three countries’ oil consumption make up of over 70% of the world’s oil consumption; Asia of 26.21%, United States of 25.48% and Western Europe of 19.24%.
Meanwhile, Middle East used 6.15% of oil compared to 56.52% of its production. The rest of countries have higher oil usage than oil production.
