The pie charts represent the household expenditures have spent on six different goods and services (housing, food, health care, education, transportation and other) in a percentage between 1950 and 2010.
Overall, the average expenditure on all goods has increased except for housing. It is interesting to note that, foods, others and transportation were the main household expenses in 2010.
Housing was the main source of expenses as which recorded of 72.1% of household monies in 1950 and by 2010, the household expenditures on housing decreased substantially where they spent only 22% of expenditures.
In contrast to this, food, others and transportation were the least household’s expense lists in 1950. About 11.2% of household expenses were spent on food, whereas others and transportation had 4.4% and 3.4% of household expenditures respectively in 1950. In 2010, the proportion of household expenditure on those items increased systematically; food of 34%, other of 19.2% and transportation of 14%.
