The charts illustrate information about the destination of UK graduates and postgraduates (apart from full-time jobs) in 2008.

Overall, further study was the most popular choice for both two types of students, while the number choosing to do voluntary work was the lowest among all categories.

As regards graduates, there were roughly under 30.000 students who decided to pursue higher education. Working part-time was the second-most preferred choice, with a figure of 17.735. Unemployment was a worrisome problem as the number of students with no jobs was only a bit smaller than that of part-time work, at over 16.000. Meanwhile, only 3.500 graduates worked for voluntary communities or organisations.

If we look at postgraduates, this trend was also true in 2008. Voluntary was the destination with the fewest pickers, as only 345 postgraduates chose to follow it. In contrast, a lot of students wanted to continue their study, and this popularity was matched by that of part-time work. The unemployed group was of average size, but was still worth paying attention.
