The percentage of world forest and timber of five regions, including North/South America, Europe, Asia and Africa, are illustrated in the two pie charts.
Very quickly, it is noticeable that the US accounts for the greatest amount of timber, whereas Africa claims most of the forested land.
Looking loser at the first chart, Africa and North America constitute 27% and 25% respectively of the total global forest. Additionally, the three other regions make up in combination 38% of the total forest, among which Europe comprises the greatest proportion of forest land at 18%.
Regarding the percentage of timber in each region, approximately one-third of the world timber is contributed by North America, while the Southern region of this country occupies almost a quarter. What is more, 47% of the world wood is made up of the remaining three regions, namely the EU, Asia and Africa, and one-fifth of the total wood is produced by Europe.
