The pie charts below give information about the major means of transportation that students used to go to university in two years, in 2004 and 2009.
Overall, the proportion of car experienced a significant decrease. Meanwhile, people gradually chose transports such as Bus, Bicycle, Train and Walking over the given period.
As can be seen, in 2004, the percentage of Car was over half of the total, with 51%. Then, there was a dramatic decline at 28 percent in 2009. While the figures of Car witnessed a decrease, the data of Bus had an upward trend from 33% in 2004 to 46% in 2009.
Similarly, other means witnessed a slight increase until 2009. Specifically, students started using Train to travel although it only rose an additional 1%, from 3% to 4%. Moreover, a mere 4% percentage of Walking also increased to 6% in 2009. It is noticeable that more students traveled by Bicycle which reached its peak at 16%, rose rapidly just with 9% in 2004.
