The provided climograph is a graphical representation of mean monthly temperatures and precipitation in Kolkata city.
A glance at this data can figure out some striking points, higher temperatures can be observed in the summers, whereas, winters experienced a lower temperature accordingly. Similarly, on the same lines, precipitation also followed a similar trend overall.
More specifically, In the month of January temperature was recorded as lowest, only 20 degrees celsius. Then, for the next four months temperature gradually increased, making a peak of 32 degrees celsius in May. For the following four months, the temperature fell gradually down to almost 27 degrees in September. In the last quarter of the year, the temperature fell drastically, down to 22 degrees in December.
On the other hand, Kolkata had experienced a very gradual increment in rainfall for the first quarter, started from only 15 mm to 100 mm in May. In the month of June, rainfall astonishingly rose to the whooping figure of above 250 mm and kept increasing for the month of July, reaching as high as 340 mm. Then for the next two months, rainfall showed a little decrement. Furthermore, for October precipitation decreased rapidly, down to 150 mm. However, the lowest precipitation is recorded for the month of December, at only 5 mm.
