The table below gives information about the underground railway systems in six cities.
The table illustrates the distance travelled and the number of passengers per year of the underground trains in the six major cities of the world. it is also indicated the date when the particular railways started their operation.
Overall, London’s underground railway system is the first among the six to open as well as the one with the longest kilometers of route. Meanwhile, Tokyo is the third to operate trains which has the highest number of passengers per year. it is Kyoto’s underground trains which have the shorter distance traveled and fewest commuters.
In details, London opened their underground train station in 1863 running the distance of 394 which is more than half the distance traveled by the Paris railway system that operates 37 years after. The underground railway in Lost Angeles is the latest development in 2001 with 28 kilometers of route.
In contrary, train in Tokyo caters the largest number of passenger per year at about 1927 million despite its shorter distance route of 155 km which operated 27 years later than Paris; second in the most number of travelers at 1191 million per year. The underground railway system located in Kyoto has the shortest route at 11 kilometers and with only 45 million commuters per year.
