describe the share of world production between Asia, Europe and the rest of the word from 1960 to 2000
The chart provides insights into the change in the proportion of world productions based on three different categories over the time period between 1840 to 2000.
Overall, Europe loses its competitive edge over time. In comparison, countries besides Europe and Asia gradually take up more percent and become the second most contributor to world production, which is slightly blow the share of Asia.
According to the graph, the proportion of world production by Asia first situated around 50 percent in 1840 and experienced a continuous decrease. it first changed over from 30 percent in 1880, through 25 percent in 1920, and to 20 percent in 1960. However, a nearly twofold increase was witnessed and the share for Asia reached over to about 40 percent in 2000. Compared to the continuous drop for Asia, the contribution from the rest of the world has shown an upward movement with an increasing rate of about 10 percent per 40 years until 1960. Surprisingly, a transformation of 10 percent in 1840 to just below 40 percent in 1960 was indicated. Afterward, a 5 percent drop from 1960 to 2000 made it the second big contributor to world production. While it is not the same case for Europe, its share fluctuated at 40 percent from 1840 to 1960 and reached its bottom with about 22 percent in 2000.
