The bar chart illustrates the percentage of men and women worked in key professions in Malaysia in 1970. Overall, girls seemed to prefer nursing and midwives while boys appeared to like architects engineers.
When it comes to girls, the rate of girls worked in nursing and midwives was the highest, being nearly 100%. The rates of girls choosing teacher in three levels of study occupied from 24% to 40% each. Girls participated in physical scientists and medical was similar, reaching 15% and statistics mathematicians was 17%. The figures for girls who worked jurists, accountants, architects engineers and economists was under 10 percent each, insignificant.
Regarding boys, most boys worked in architects engineer. Being a little percent smaller, the figures for jurists, accountants and economists was about 91%, respectively. The percentage of physical scientists, medical and statistics mathematicians was quite high, with about 85%. Interestingly, those who worked in three levels of study was higher than that of girls, achieving from 60% to 76%. Unlike girls, the boy seemed not to participate in nursing and midwives because there were only about 1%, much lower than other key professions.
