The diagram below shows the distribution of men and women in key professions in Malaysia in 1970.

Describe the distribution of men and women in the professions in Malaysia, as indicated in the diagram.

The diagram describes the percentage of men and women working in several main jobs in Malaysia in 1970.

At first glance, we can see that most of the laborers in various kinds of professions were men. The only exception was nursing and midwives in which the ratio of women was absolutely dominant at 99%.

Obviously, there were a significantly large amount of men who worked in the remaining segments such as jurists (91%), accountants (91%), physical scientists (85%), architects and engineers (97%), medicine (83%), statisticians and mathematicians (83%) and education (92%). Whereas, the proportion of women who joined these fields was just below 20%.

In regard to the teacher job, the imbalance seemed a bit improved. The percentage of male teacher in University and Higher education, secondary school and primary school were 76%, 63% and 60% respectively. Whilst proportion of female teachers gradually increased from 24% to 37% and 40%.

In summary, there was a huge difference in the distribution of men and women who worked in Malaysia in 1970 when the male laborers contributed as the key role in the labor market.
