The diagram below shows the floor plan of a public library 20 years ago and how it looks now. Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

The pictures illustrate the changes of a public library’s floor from 20 years ago until recently.

Overall, the most significant enhancement was the addition of tables and chairs in the center of the floor. The next obvious changes were the elimination of the reading room and the conversion of CDs, videos, computer games’ zone to a larger area for children’s fiction books and events.

There wasn’t any tables or chairs located oppositely to the entrance until 20 years later. In the top right corner of the floor, there used to a children’s books zone 20 years ago before it has been replaced with a lecture room. Near this zone was a place to store adults’ non-fictions before being replaced with adults’ fictions. There are also newly-added inclusions such as information desk and self-service machines. Moreover, the inquiry desk in the bottom right corner of the floor is now a coffee shop for visitors.

To the left side of the floor, there was an area for CDs, games, videos located at opposite the previous children’s books before officially converted to a place for events and children’s fictions 20 years later. Next to it was the place for storing adults’ fictions, but with more book types now. In the bottom left corner, a reading room has been replaced with a computer one today.
