The diagram gives information about the process of generating electricity in a particular hydroelectric power station.
Overall, it can be seen that there are two main stages including in the daylight when collecting water from the river and storage in the reservoir. At night, water is pumped back into the river.
Throughout the day, a large volume of water flows from the river to the high-level reservoir. Then, the dam is opened on the east and west sides for the flowing of water from the high level to the reversible turbine in the low ground. Water is operated by the generator before channeling electricity to the national grid through power lines. After that, the spent water is collected in a dam at a lower ground level.
During the night, excess water is pumped back into the high-level reservoir, and finally, the dam is closed. This cycle continues and keeps generating electrical energy.
