The diagram explains the process of electricity production through geothermal energy.
Overall, the process of electricity generation consists of 5 steps, first being the reserved cold water pumping down into the ground and the last step being the generator producing electricity.
First of all, in a geothermal power plant, cold water is collected and reserved in a tank, which is then pumped down to a depth of about 4.5 km where it reaches the injection well. The cold water after passing the injection well goes through the geothermal zone which is comprised of hot rocks. These hot rocks heat up the water. Next, the heated-up water goes through the production wall to be pumped up above the ground into a condenser.
After reaching the condenser, the hot water is condensed into steam. This steam is then passed onto the turbine. The turbine is powered up by the steam which in turn powers up the generator. Finally, after getting powered up, the generator starts producing electricity to be used by the population.
