The diagram below shows the percentage of deaths from heart disease and cancer, and calories consumed from processed foods in different countries Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

The given bar chart provides information on proportion of deaths from heart disease and cancer and it also depicts percentage of calories consumed from processed foods in 12 countries.

A paradoxical pattern is observed in the graph. The percentage of heart and cancer diseases is the highest in Hungary at 90% whereas percentage calorie consumption is the least at 9%. Every 8 in 10 Americans are suffering from heart or cancer disease followed by Belgium, Sweden and Finland where the proportion remains between 60 to 70%. Moreover, cancer and heart patients remain in the range of 45% and 55% in Portugal, Venezuela and Greece. Lastly, less than 20% people suffer from such diseases in Mexico, Korea, Thailand and Laos.

On the other hand, calorie consumption from processed foods is the highest in Laos (90%), followed by Thailand (70%), Korea (59%), Mexico (48%) and Greece (37%). Moreover, intake of calories from processed foods in countries like Hungary, USA, Belgium, Sweden, Finland, Portugal and Venezuela is in the range of 10% to 30%.

Ironically, the countries where less calories are consumed show a higher proportion of cancer and cardiac diseases.
