Overall, there are 15 steps in the process, commencing with catching fish and culminating in dispatching the final products to supermarkets for sale. The whole process takes place at several different locales.
The first step occurs when fishes are caught and frozen at -18 degrees celsius when swimming in the ocean. Subsequently, they are unloaded in a harbour before being weighed and thawed. Afterwards, having been deboned, descaled and steamed, the fish is then cooled and filleted. These fillets are then put into cans where brine, water or oil are added for better preservation. Food hygiene is further enhanced after these cans are sealed and sterilized. Once the cans have been labelled and categorized, they are stored in batches of 24 and ultimately delivered to supermarkets for customers to buy. <br>
