The diagram below shows the process for recycling plastic bottles.
The picture explains how plastic bottles are recycled. Overall, the process consists of nine stages, beginning with the collection of waste bottles and ending up with the eventual production of usable water bottles and various types of products made from them.
In each stage, different works must be done. First, waste plastic bottles are collected from recycling rubbish bins, where members of the public leave their used bottles. The next step takes place in a recycling centre in which they are sorted by hand and separated according to their grade, with any bottle that is not suitable for reusing being removed. These graded bottles are then compressed into blocks, after which they are crushed and the result will be washed in water at the same time.
The pieces of plastic are first poured into a machine that turns them into pellets. After that, they are heated to form raw material. When they become raw material, they will be used for producing in two different categories: brand-new plastic water bottles and containers or T-shirts, pencils, etc. These items are themselves recyclable and the process begins again.
