Given is a flow chart revealing not only the way in which the simplest water filtration system is designed but also the process of producing clean drinkable water.
As can be seen from the diagram, it is clearly evidenced that there are numerous steps included in the process, beginning with pouring the initial impure water into one tank and ending up with the final potable water in another tank.
At the first stage, unclean water is put into a cylindrical barrel by removing its circular shaped lid. In this container there are three filtering layers namely sand, charcoal and gravel, with sand at the top and gravel at the bottom. The dirty water is then filtered through these three layers before being temporarily stored at the bottom of the tank.
The process continues with sucking up vertically the water gathered in bottom part of the tank by using an angled pipe. This pipe is slightly bent at the middle and also linked to another closed tank. Thus, filtered water from the first tank is easily brought into the second tank, which is placed lower than the first one. Lastly, filtered water is stored in a large container with a tap attached to it, through which the purified water is ready to be taken out for drinking.
