This diagram shows the different steps involved in the making of a matchstick. Products used in the making of matches are a wood log, Ammonium phosphate, paraffin wax and chemicals whereas it involves following types of equipment, i.e. peeler, chopper, tanks, dryer, hopper, blower, metal duct, storage area, rolling belt and packaging area.

Overall, the process of making matches includes steps like peeling, chopping, preparation, drying, storing, chemical treatment and then packaging.

First, a wood log is being peeled using blade creating veneer which is then moved to chopper where it is chopped into small sticks. These sticks will then be submerged into ammonium phosphate tank followed by drying in the dryer.

In the next stage, these sticks will be passed on to a hopper from there it will be moved to the storage area through a metal duct with the help of a blower. These matches will then move to inserter from where their tip will be dipped into paraffin wax tank, based chemical tank and tip chemical tank. After the chemical treatment, these matches will be dried in a dryer and then finally reached to the packaging area where it will be packed.
