The bar chart compares and contrasts data on the changes in spending time watching television per week in six different age groups by both females and males over a 5-year period from 1990 to 1995.
In general, the graph shows that people in the 65 and above group spent more time on watching TV than any other group.
Looking at the graph more closely, one can see that both sexes watched a little over 35 hours per week in 1999 in the oldest age group. In contrast, the 4- to 15-year-old girls in 1995 and their counterparts in the 16- to 24-year-old age group in 1999 watched the least, with slightly less than 17,5 hours each. The biggest differences between genders in any age group were in the second-oldest age group, where an approximate 17.5 hours were recorded for males and a little over 22.5 for the opposite gender in 1999. There were only two age groups where both sexes experienced an increase in viewing time: those in the third and second oldest age groups.
