Overall, the landfill design involves four phases.
First of all, in the construction phase a hole is made manually, after which, the hole's bottom is lined with synthetic substances and clay. Furthermore, a drainage tank along with drainage pipes is installed to store liquid waste.
Once the landfill is constructed the usage phase begins where in all the household waste can be disposed into the man-made hole. All the liquid waste present in the refuse will pass through the drainage pipes and will be stored in the drainage tank.
In the closure phase, pipes will be installed to remove the liquid waste and gases present in the bottom layer. Additionally, a bed of natural rocks are superimposed at base to prevent the liquid from infiltrating in to the soil. At the end the pit will be sealed using clay.
