The figure illustrates the operating process of geothermal power plant to produce electricity.
It is clear that there are five stages in the process and the state of the water is changing in the process.
At the beginning of the process, cold water is stored in the tank. Then, the water is pumped down from the surface to the injection well, and the distance between suction of the pump and input of the injection well is 4.5 km. After that, the cold water passes through the hot rocks. During the transportation, water absorbs heat from the geothermal zone and turns to hot water, before reaching it at the production well.
At the fourth stage in the manufacturing process, the hot water is pumped up to the condenser, where it makes steam by condensing method. Finally, steam is used as a fuel in the combustion process of the turbine and produces power. This power is used to run the generator, hence produces electricity, and then delivered to the industries through the grid.
