In generall, there are 4 stages in the life cycle of the silkworm, beginning with the laying eggs and ending with the final stage as an adult moth.
At the first stage of life cycle, eggs are laid by an adult month on a leaf. After a period of 10 days, silkworm larvae emerge from the eggs and are fed by mulberry leafs. In the next stage, about four to six weeks later, the larvae start to be covered in silk threads.
Then, it takes 3 to 8 days for larvas are completely located inside the silk threads, turning into cocoons. At the final stage, after 16 days, the adult moths emerge from cocoon. This moths continue to lay eggs on the mulberry leafs and the life cycle starts again.
