The diagrams below give information about two road tunnels in two Australian cities. Summarizes the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and makes comparisons where relevant.
The diagram illustrates how two road tunnels were located in individual Australian cities.
Overall, tunnel A is shorter and supports fewer vehicles. Meanwhile, tunnel B is longer and bigger, especially supporting more transportations. However, the significant difference between two road tunnels is the location when tunnel A is below the bridge but tunnel B lies under a regular road.
To begin with tunnel A, the road is shorter, deeper and allows fewer vehicles. It was constructed 1,5 meters below the water surface and length is 2,2 meters. However, the structure of the tunnel is different compared to other roads because they are constructed below the water surface and the bridge at the top, divided into two different areas. In addition, about the time and cost, they were built in 1986 and took twelve years to complete, while the cost is lower, just about 555 million.
On the other hand, tunnel B in Australian cities is longer, deeper and accommodates more traffic. First, they build in a shorter time than tunnel A, only about four years. However, the cost is higher at about 1,1 million dollars, thereby they are longer with the length of 3,6 kilometers and 2,5 meters with height.
In conclusion, tunnel B is more developed and expensive than tunnel A but also they are wider and longer. It’s suitable and convenient to go straight to other areas.
