The diagrams below show changes in Felixstone in the UK between 1967 and 2001.
The maps illustrate the considerable changes that occurred in Felixstone in the UK over the course of 34 years, from 1967 to 2001.
Overall, it is clear that the area was completely transformed with the addition of wind turbines and apartments; however, the golf course, dunes, and some trees remain unchanged.
The most visible and striking difference is that the farmland has been industrialized to make room for other entertainment facilities such as a swimming pool, a hotel, and tennis courts. One of the shops was converted into apartments while the high street in the middle was still left unchanged.
Between 1967 and 2001, two types of beaches took up space where there once were a marina, a pier, and a fish market. The sea has been taken advantage to make a relaxing site for different purposes, private and public. Since then, the place was further expanded for hotels to develop a car park for visitors and the cafe was relocated to the right side of the hotel. Another major change to the area had been the construction of wind turbines in the southwest, next to the sea.
