The pictures describes how a small local museum and its surroundings changed after some development in 1957 and 2007
Overall, this area underwent a number of significant changes , the most noticeable of
which are the rearrangement of the museum and the decrease in the number of
trees.
Looking first at the centre of the area , the museum was expanded northwards with a new
education centre and special exhibitions being constructed . The local history room on the northern side of the entrance hall was relocated to the centre, which was accompanied by a new reception. A cafe was constructed , taking up all of the land previously used for the museum store-room. This area also saw a dramatic change, with a new museum shop being built. Another change is that the entrance hall was moved from the centre to the west.
Turning to the surroundings of the museum, in 1957 , the rows of trees were far more , when compared to those in 2007. The wooden area in the bottom right hand corner was
chopped down to make way for a car park catering for easy car storage. Generally , most of the trees in the northern part were cut down and turned into a vacant land.
