The diagrams illustrate the method and equipment used in producing cement, and how cement is then processed to create concrete for building purposes.
The first step in the cement production is to mix together limestone and clay. The two materials would pass through a crusher, producing powder. The powder would then be transferred into a mixer. After this, the materials would pass through a rotating heater, which is heated up inside. Next, the product would go into a grinder, where cement would be made. The final step is to pack the cement into bags.
Referring to concrete production, a mixture of cement (15%), water (10%), sand (25%), and gravel (50%) are poured into a concrete mixer. After mixing, the four materials would turn into concrete for building purposes.
To compare both productions, there are more steps in production of cement than in concrete. In addition, both methods included mixing mixtures together while rotating the container. However, heat is not required to produce concrete, but is needed in the production of cement.
