The diagrams below show the stages and equipment used in the cement-making process, and how cement is used to produce concrete for building purposes.
The first diagram illustrates the process of producing cement, and the second diagram introduces the ingredients required in the manufacturing of concrete.
Overall, there are five steps in cement-making process, starting with the input of raw materials and ending with the packaging finished product. In the concrete production, the materials include four different items that are mixed together.
At the beginning of the cement-producing process, limestone and clay are crushed together to turn them into powder. Then, the powder of two ingredients is carefully mixed by a mixer before going to the rotating heater where it is heated by the fire at the end of the pipe. After that, the resulting mixture is ground into cement and packaged in bags as finished products.
Cement is one of the four materials needed in producing concrete, along with gravel, water and sand. The four ingredients are blended together in a specific proportion. The mixture which consists of 50% gravel, 25% sand, 15% cement and 10% water are put in the rotating concrete mixer to produce concrete.
