The picture illustrates the improvements in the cooking equipment. As it is shown, there are three stages in the process from the simplest form to a piece of sophisticated equipment.
In its initial form, the cooking equipment had a very simple heat source. It stands on three pieces of stones with grasses to be used as fuel for its fire. As for the second stage, the heat source is surrounded by a shield made out of clay. The function of this clay shield is to minimize heat loss.
The final stage of the cooking equipment development is a lot more complex. The heat source is separated into two sections, the upper and the bottom. The latter is made of metal with a door that enables the cycle of air and ash. Both sections are connected with a grate for charcoal to be put on. The purpose of its holes is to be an access for air to enter and for excess ash to fall. The upper section is completed with a heat-resistant clay lining, a handle, and three pieces of triangular-shaped support for pot.
