ROLE PLAY 11
A: Oh hey B are you waiting for me?
B: Hello Sir, how are you ?
A: I’m fine. How about you?
B: I’m fine too, but I have some issues that make me unhappy and unfairly so I want to discuss with you about those.
A: Yes. So what is the first one ?
B: Ah it is about the overseas posting. You promised to send me on an overseas posting after one year. I don’t know whether you do remember that ?
A: Yes I remember saying that. And you are wondering about that?
B: Yes I don’t know why Ramos- the Spanish guy was selected for that posting to Argentina instead of me.
A: About that I want to ask you two questions. First is: are you fluent in Spanish and second is : do you have prefect teamwork skills?
B: I am not fluent in Spanish much and my teamwork skills are just normal.
A: So that are the reasons. I want you to work in here more so that we can train your Spanish and your teamwork skills and when I think you’re ready, you will be selected for an overseas posting.
B: Ok I see. I’ll accept that. Oh, one more, I think marketing executive is the face of this company. And I have to drive this cheap car ? You did promise to give me a luxury car when I joined the company.
A: Jesus! Calm down! Okay, I agree, Yes I did promised to you but did you miss something?
B: Really, I don’t remember. Can you tell me again?
A: I said you would get a luxury car if you became a senior executive. You know, I always remember all of your efforts and dedication, I am considering to promote you and then you will get your luxury car. It’s so close, just trying harder.
B: Yes I am very appreciate to hear that. And my final issue is the bonus. My end-of-the-year bonus is 50% lower than I expected, What happened?.
A: Well, this happened to everyone, including me, you have to understand that we’re having a financial crisis. It’s pretty sad but I don’t think I can do anything about it.
B: Ok I can understand that. But if our company is stable I want a better bonus.
A: I promise with you.
B: I think I’m fine now.
A: I am very appreciated with all the word you said. So now you can get back to work now and have a nice day.
B: Thank you sir. Have a nice day. Bye.
