The energy consumption by Fuel from 1980-2030
The chart compares the usage of four kinds of energy in the U.S from 1980 to 2030. It was measured by quadrillion.
Overall, fossil fuels are preferable by American people while green resources are still less popular.
In 1980, the consumption P&O topped the list at 35, being followed by NG (20) and C(15) respectively. In the next 35 years, three of them experienced fluctuating increases, with the amount of consumed P&O reaching roughly 42 and that of NG and C tying for the second rank of 25. Until 2030, the usage of P&O and C are predicted to share the same upward pattern while the tendency of NG is forecasted to stay unchanged. (P&O will secure the first rank at 50).
When it comes to alternative resource, as it can be seen in the graph, at the very first time, they both started with the lowest point (roughly 5). While the usage of N continuously grew, leaving behind its counterpart of S/W and H, which shared similar hover around 5 unti 2015. In the next 15 years, the consumption of these green sources is predicted to be unchanged, with the amount of consumed H being at the bottom of the list at 4.
