The first chart below shows how energy is used in an average Australian household The second chart shows the greenhouse gas emissions which result from this energy use

The two pie charts depict the use of energy in various segments of an Australian household, and the resultant greenhouse gases as a by-product of that energy use in an unspecified time frame.
Overall, it is evident that heating and water heating accounted for major energy consumption, whereas cooling, refrigeration, lighting and other appliances consumed less energy on average. Simultaneously, the gas emissions are given-off in large amounts by water heating and other appliances, while cooling, lighting, refrigeration and heating produce lower quantities.
Heating and water heating accounted for the highest energy consumption in an Australian family with 42% and 30% energy usage respectively. Other sectors like cooling, lighting and refrigeration's fused energy ultilization was more than one-tenth, whereas other implements intaken 15% of energy
In contrast to its energy comsumption of less than a-fifth, other tools produce nearly double the amount (28%) of greenhouse gases. Gas discharge by refrigeration and lighting also increased two-fold to 8% and 14% compared with its energy intake of 4% and 7% accordingly. Cooling, on the other hand, produces only 3% of greenhouse gas. Surprisingly, emission of greenhouse gas by heatimg is significantly decline to 15% in comparision with its energy use which consist of a two- fold amount.
