Overall, it is clear that cooling consumes the lowest energy and produces the lowest greenhouse gas emissions. Besides, the highest proportion of energy is consumed in heating, but water heating contribute to the highest percentage of gas emissions.
To be specific, heating system consume 42% energy which is nearly three times higher than the percentage of gas emissions which result from it. Meanwhile, the percentage of energy consumed by water heating system acoounts for 30% and almost approximates the figure for emissions it emits. Refrigeration system consumes 7% energy, then produces double emissions.
There are an equal proportion of energy consumed by cooling system and the figure for emissions result from it, at about 2%. The percentage of emissions contributed by lighting system is 8%, which is double that of gas emissions. Other appliances consume 15% energy and contribute 28% gas emissions.
