The following chart shows the results of a British survey taken in 2009 related to Housing preferences of UK people.
The bar chart illustrates housing preferences among people who lived in the British cities of Liverpool, London and Manchester in the year 2009.
It is clear that Living in flats was the most popular choice among Liverpool residents, while people living in London and Manchester had a tendency towards Semi-detached houses. In contrast, the lowest figure belonged to Terraced Houses in all cities.
Nearly 60% of respondents to the survey in Liverpool preferred apartments, nearly tripling that of Manchester, with about 20%. However, the opposite tendency could be seen in the figures for detached houses and semi-detached houses, accounting for around 16% and well over 30% of the preferences expressed in each option in Liverpool and Manchester respectively. In contrast, there were just roundly 10% of residents in both cities choosing Terraced houses in 2009.
Regarding the survey result in London, well over a third of the preferences went on Semi- detached houses. This was followed by nearly 30% and 25% of citizens choosing Apartments and Detached houses respectively. On the contrary, the figure for terraced houses was lower, with slightly less than 20% of survey participants selecting them.
